SIBA's primary goal is to give independent booksellers the tools to be successful in the marketplace. All of its programming and services are geared towards this one important result--the success of independent bookselling in the South. Through it's newsletter and listserv, it promotes networking and a sense of community among booksellers. The SIBA Bestseller list, ARTS calendar, Book Awards and Holiday Catalogs raise the visibility of its member stores among the reading public. SIBA also sponsors cost-saving business tools such as its shipping program to help its members increase their profitability. The SIBA Tradeshow combines all these benefits in one annual jam-packed weekend filled with new books, new authors, and new ideas from scores of book industry professionals. Yearly dues are nominal, so why wait?

What is a SIBA Core Member?
SIBA Core Members are brick and
mortar bookstores within one of the eleven states in SIBA territory: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. Membership is $150 per year, per physical location. See our Circle of Sites program (aka "Banner for Dues") and B3! Engagement program for information on free membership. The first allows you to waive your membership dues in exchange for running a banner on your store website, the second lets you accumulate points for participating in SIBA programs and activities. Earn enough points and your membership fee is waived.
SIBA is a rich resource for your store and your staff. Programs and benefits focus on increasing your business acumen, helping you reach more customers, and of course sell more books! The yearly Booksellers Benefits Package is the most comprehensive list of current programs and services, but here is a list of benefits broken down by how members can use them:
