Coming in late fall 2019 . . . Podunks was created to celebrate and encourage southern artists, writers, and what drives them through those moonlit hours: caffeine and inspiration.
Having grown up in a small town in Mississippi and after wandering the earth for a bit, I landed back in another small town one state away in Somerville, Tennessee. It was where I knew I was supposed to be: a place with a courthouse clock that dings on the hour; a place with no shortage of trucks hauling hay and good people; a place with unimpeded views of the sunrises and sunsets.
With a love for the South’s colorful arts fairs and as a published writer, I wanted a way to promote artists, both new and established, who carry the voice of the South in their words and work. And I wanted to do it in Somerville.
Podunks is that place.
When open, I invite you to come pilfer through our collection of new books, dedicated entirely to southern writers, themes, and histories. Grab a cup of coffee and hunker down with a piece of Podunks pie. While here, pick up a hand-made gift, created with pure southern grit and gumption.
If you come wearing overalls, you will automatically receive a 10% discount. No kidding. The world needs more overalls.
