 Advertising Design Specs One Sheet

Impression and click through data is able on all online promotions by request, for up to six months after the promotion runs. All promoted books must be listed in the Indiebound.org database.

 

CIRCLE OF SITES BANNERS

Banners size: 440x125 & 125x440
(both formats are required per campaign)
Formats: jpg, gif, png

Deadline: 5 days before run date.

Tip: Circle of Sites banners are hyperlinked to store-specific product pages, so they should not contain action wording like “click here to visit the author's website” or other wording that implies the browser will be directed to a specific page. Third party tags and click-tracking urls are not allowed.

Target Audience: Consumers and Booksellers
Circulation: 50+ independent bookstore websites
Average Impressions: 35,000-40,000

 

EBLAST

Size: 800 x 800
Formats: jpg, gif, png
Other requirements: URL links and eblast subject lines must be provided by client
Deadlines: 5 days before run date -- SIBA blasts run as scheduled

Notes: All SIBA eblasts are SPAM-tested at mail-tester.com before being released for a final proof. Potential issues are addressed and the client informed before any eblast is sent out.

eBlasts are also now pushed to SIBA booksellers via SIBA’s “Social Link” App, and are formatted to be optimized on all mobile devices.

SOCIAL BLAST

Tip: Because social blasts are promoted to the consumer market as part of a launch day promotion, campaigns are generally linked to a SIBA member bookseller for purchase. Alternate link destinations must be approved by SIBA.

GALLEY GIVEAWAY

Jacket image files should be submitted as jpeg files. Copy can be up to 300 words, and should include bibliographic data and the contact email for requesting review copies.

  • an image of the book jacket
  • the standard catalog copy description
  • bibliographic information (title/author/publisher/put date/ price/format/isbn, etc)
  • the email address booksellers should use to contact someone if they are interested in a review copy or more information about the book.

Bookshelf ads require only a jacket image of the book (jpg or gif) and the ad copy (250 word maximum) Books must be listed in the Indiebound.org database.
Deadline: 5 days prior to run date. Bookshelf ads run on a monthly basis

COMBINED REGIONAL BANNER PROGRAM

A banner campaign that places ads on the Web sites of each of the nine regional booksellers trade associations (SIBA, MBA, GLiBA, NEIBA, NAIBA, PNBA, SCIBA, NCBA, MPBA). Get instant national industry exposure. Banners run on the home pages of the web sites of all nine regional trade associations. Banners run for a week and placement is exclusive.

Size: 250K maximum. The smaller, the better.
Deadlines: 5 days before run date.  Banners from Tuesday to Monday, to take advantage of publisher book release schedules.

TRADE SHOW DIRECTORY

Design specs:

Ads should be CMYK, tiff or pdf files. Minimum 300 dpi.

full page: 5 x 8 inches
full page with bleed: 5.5 in width x 8.5 in height, bleed of .125 inch on all sides.
half page 5 x 4 inches (no bleeds allowed)
quarter page: 2.5 x 4 inches (no bleeds allowed)

Logos: 2x2 minimum
Listings: 50 words max.
