Resources and Links for BooksellersThe book industry has responded strongly to the news that Baker & Taylor is leaving the retail book market, with publishers, wholesalers, and industry organizations each implementing special offers and programs for booksellers forced to transition away from their major supplier. Reach out to SIBA with any and all questions. If we can't find the answer, we'll be able to put you in touch with someone who can: Wanda Jewell: wanda@sibaweb.com Talk to someone face to face: SIBA's Video Office Hours are every Wednesday, 2-5 pm EST at this link: https://zoom.us/j/328846384 Talk to your colleagues. The collective wisdom of the SIBA community may have all the answers you need: My Books and More and Website E-CommerceMany SIBA member stores originally signed up with My Books and More to take advantage of SIBA's "banner for dues" program, also known as "Circle of Sites," and are now facing the task of finding another e-commerce platform for their websites. SIBA strongly recommends that stores looking to replace their My Books and More e-commerce platform contact the American Booksellers Association about IndieLite--their scaled down version of IndieCommerce. Currently, any ABA-member store who will be losing their B&T website has the option of signing up for the IndieLite program FREE for the first 3 months, and at 50% off ($25) per month, for the next 9 months. In other words, eligible stores will be able to run an IndieLite site for 12 months, for only $225.
SIBA is committed to working with booksellers to find viable e-commerce alternatives for their stores. For stores looking at other e-commerce platforms, SIBA has put together a list of SIBA booksellers familiar with some of the more popular e-commerce platforms used by book retailers. They are all available to answer questions:
